One of my favorite quotes is by F. Scott Fitzgerald:
Did you know that there are over 400 songs that contain the word September? From music to poetry, stories to quotes, it is the single most popular month used for expressing emotions.
If you are fortunate enough to live in an area where you experience the seasons, you know what I mean. Yet, even if your climate doesn’t change every few months, September can be your season of life.
For the little ones, it means an end to summer and the beginning of a new school year. And whether you have children or not, you see and hear the yellow buses in the early morning hours on their runs with precious cargo – the future of this great land.
September brings the promise of Fall and along with it cooler weather, pumpkins, making plans for Thanksgiving, being with family.
The light changes and moves around the house reminding us that dusk will be creeping up earlier and earlier, turning our warm summer afternoons into cozy winter evenings, regardless of what the clock says.
September is a new beginning. A promise of hope. The opportunity for change.
You can’t deny that September brings back emotions from long ago, all the while feeling like it is beckoning for a fresh start.
Make September your season of life. Make a change for the better, not just for you, but for someone else. Volunteer. Make someone dinner. Write your friend a letter. Compliment a stranger. Be thankful and grateful, every day.
The possibilities are endless.

Hi Gay,
Hi Fall to me……..means all the things you said and it also means a change in menu with soups and stews, a change in decor with earth tones, and a looking forward to all the family
events like Thannksgiving and Christmas, trick or treaters, Fall festivals, changes in clothing, but not until the end of Oct. for us, as we live in Florida. Around here it also means
Pumpkin french toast, sweet potato pancakes, and pumpkin pie…………….
Loved all your beautiful photos……….they made Fall come alive for me………………..Thanks!~
Happy Fall…………….
Blessings, Nellie
Also loved your post on the care and keeping of slipcovers, it was very
interesting and helpful, as I really want my next sofa to have slipcovers.
So gave me a lot of good info. Thanks.
Good morning Gay,
I am a summer girl and I am sad to see it go but there is something magical about a crisp fall day. The colors come alive in the fall. I love the smells of fall. Apple pie, pumpkin pie and I burn fall candles in my home. Love the scents for fall. Have a great Friday and wonderful week end.
