It’s hard to believe August is ending soon. I’ve been writing about Christmas design and decor for the past month for Romantic Homes – and it’s been rather difficult to do with the record heat we are having here in Virginia. To get in the mood I turned the AC on high, made some hot chocolate, curled up with my favorite blanket and computer and got down to work.

I have been enjoying my incredible garden harvest, all grown in pots on my deck. We have a huge yard, but it’s 95% shade. The 5% sun is on my deck so I take advantage of it. I love our shade gardens though, but I simply cannot live without my home grown veggies. My dream would be to cut a few trees down and fashion a huge garden (it’s going to happen one day, just have to tell hubby).
I could live on tomatoes. Here’s my version of fresh tomatoes and basil.
The yellow tomatoes are my new favorites!
Here’s another tomato lunch – this time with arugula and homemade pesto served on naan.

So I came across these chips by accident last weekend at Wegman’s. They have no GMOs, are all organic, and they are delicious. Like it’s-hard-to-stop-eating-them delicious. They are not something I would eat every day, but I do believe in going outside the box occasionally and if you need to snack, try a handful of these. You will love them, I promise.
And of course my summer days would not be complete without my assistant Riley, who moves with the sun. And let me know when the UPS man is here. He’s really good at both.
Enjoy!

Oh Gay it was so much fun to open your post this morning. It just made my heart smile. Riley is tooo adorable. Love his little Santa Hat. Can you say perfect Christmas Card photo!!!! Ugh to think about Christmas. I know we will have to go there I just cannot let go of summer just yet. Terry is cutting the grass today and it is in the 70's here and I love the smell of fresh cut grass coming in the windows. Have a great day and wonderful week end coming up.
