Classic, clean and chic, nothing packs more design punch than black and white. It can be modern or vintage, industrial or glam: let your personality shine through with pops of your favorite colors in the form of pillows. flowers, art or rugs.

Start with your larger furnishings like sofas and chairs, and choose a solid color. They do not have to necessarily be black or white, you can work in reverse and make your sofa or chairs your accent color and select black and white accessories. Limit your patterns to one or two throw pillows or it will look chaotic.
Black and white can be ever-changing. Once you have a great base, updating your look with different accessories is as easy as a trip to your local Home Goods or TJ Maxx.

Love these photos! I have brought black/brown into our all white palette to add that rustic masculine touch for the men in our home. I like it but tend to still want to paint it all white! It works though for the french nordic coastal style of our sea cottage.
