Cucumber Lemon Water – It’s not just for the Spa!

September 21, 2014

Cucumber Lemon Water – also known as “spa” water, has amazing health benefits and should be incorporated into your everyday life. I started doing this three years ago and I can tell you from experience it is awesome. Sound dramatic? Try it yourself and see!

You will need a few of these

and these

and a large glass pitcher

The health benefits of Cucumber Lemon Infused water are many. It’s an anti-inflammatory.  It’s detoxifying. It’s great for your skin. You will never be bloated again. It’s low calorie. It’s inexpensive. Your guests will love it. And it tastes so refreshing and light you will end up drinking more water. Everyday.  Not just when you “detox”.  I know detoxing is all the rage but in reality, the way we treat our bodies everyday is what matters – not just what we do once a month or when we have over-indulged.

There are many variations on the theme.  You can add mint for sweetness (I prefer no mint), fresh ginger slices, orange slices, etc.  Just don’t be silly and add sugar 😉

Here’s my recipe:
One Cucumber
One Lemon

(both scrubbed clean with soap and water because you are leaving the skin on. You may also want to purchase organic – I leave that to you.) Cut the lemon into quarters. I use half a lemon for a small pitcher, a whole lemon for a large pitcher. Slice the cucumber thin.  If you are using a large pitcher use about 2/3 cucumber, a small pitcher – half. Of course feel free to experiment and and see just how much of each is to your liking.

Let the flavors develop overnight or for a few hours.  I keep mine in the fridge for a few days, adding more water as needed (sometimes adding more lemon and cucumber slices too) and make a new batch ever three days or so.  I pour it right into my water bottle and it’s with me all day.

So replace your morning glass of juice with this water (my husband did and loves it!) So skip that Venti Chai Pumpkin Spice Mocha Lite Three Pump Soy Skinny Frappuccino (no whip).

Your body will thank you!

Cucumber and lemon have nutrients which can help our body nourish and cleanse our body from certain kinds of unwanted elements. Combining them with water can make the whole thing more efficient and easier for people to consume. Anyway, it’s great to know that this procedure has done you good. Good day!

As a relatively new subscriber, I am reading through all your posts. This sounds so good and so good for the body. I have scrubbed the lemon and the cuke and am using an old pitcher of my mom’s. Maybe I can get the hubster to try this for the health benefits. xoxo

I talked my husband into giving up his grapefruit juice in the morning for this! Just took a glance at the sugar grams in juice and that did it for him!
